Barbara Scheetz, Optometrist
Dr. Barbara Scheetz is a Des Moines native, a graduate of Dowling High School, and Drake University. She received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Houston in 1989. Upon graduating, she returned to practice in the Des Moines area.
In 1997 Dr. Scheetz was appointed by the governor to be a member of the Iowa Board of Optometric Examiners, which she was a part of for nine years. In 1998, Barbara received “The Young Optometrist of the Year Award” for the state of Iowa. The award is given to an optometrist who shows leadership, dedication and commitment to the profession.
Dr. Scheetz is married and the couple have a love for Drake basketball games, camping, traveling and spending time with their kids and grandchildren.
Elisha, Office Manager
Elisha has been the office manager for Dr. Scheetz for over 15 years! She knows the “in’s and out’s” of the office. Any questions about billing she can answer. Any questions you have about anything: she can answer! Elisha lives in Altoona with her husband Jeff and children; Macie, Cooper, and Hunter. Her greatest joys are her children and she spends all her free time with them making family memories.
Cherish, Operations Lead
Cherish: As the Lead of Operations Cherish has been with Ashworth Vision Clinic for over 12 years. She acts as a liaison between patients and staff/doctors, schedules appointments, gather insurance eligibility & benefits, and any other requests to help with patient’s needs. She resides in Urbandale with her husband Nick and children. She loves to travel (especially to Disney) and spending time with family and friends.
Debra
Debra has been in the optical field for 25 years. She was in the Des Moines area for 10 years before moving south to spend time with family. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, is a baseball fan and likes to discover all Iowa has to offer.
